You will be working with our complex and vulnerable pre-diagnosis patients on a cancer pathway and with our non-specific symptom pathway. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is patient-focused and committed to improving patient experience, pathways, and care.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for someone who is compassionate, enthusiastic, innovative, and wanting to improve the access and experience of patients through diagnostic pathways. You will be required to take responsibility for the delivery and engagement of patients referred on the suspected cancer 2ww pathway, as well as acting as a role model and maintaining effective collaborative relationships across the multi-disciplinary team.
You will be invited to attend CNS forums and encouraged to undertake continuing professional development. The successful candidate will be required to travel across sites as per service needs.

Qualifications
Essential
* Registered General Nurse
* First level degree or equivalent
* Demonstrated ability to study at Masters level
* Recognised teaching qualification
* Advanced communication skills training
* Level 2 Psychological Support Training or willingness to undertake
* Evidence of continued professional development
Desirable
* MSc or willingness to undertake
* Counselling course
Previous Experience
Essential
* Evidence of extensive post-registration experience, including cancer nursing at a senior level Band 6 or above
* Experience of multi-disciplinary team working
* Leadership and management experience
* Experience of teaching within the clinical field
Desirable
* Previous experience of working as a Clinical Nurse Specialist
* Experience of undertaking clinical audit
* Experience of working as an autonomous practitioner
