Remuneration: From £29,000 to £32,000 depending on age and experience.

We are currently recruiting for a Production Operative to join the team at our Manchester branch. Your role will involve providing support to the Production Manager by undertaking a number of daily organisational tasks as detailed below.
Key Responsibilities
· Undertaking work orders generated by the internal sales teams.
· Working in a production/manufacturing environment to deadlines. Working on your own initiative and also to work effectively as part of a team.
· Working to datum point X, Y, Z. To set up flatbed router machines for both 2D and 5 axis capabilities.
· Work with Xilog - programming & edit existing programs. Setting up tools & drills length and diameter.
· First inspection sign off, using measuring equipment to check parts are correct.
· Understand speeds & feeds to ensure high quality and efficient timings for different materials and items.
· Machine simple & complex parts to technical drawings
· Listen for unusual sounds or detect excessive vibration to pre-empt problems
· Ensure that machined products meet industry standard tolerances and / or specific drawing tolerances.
· Using hand tools to trim and deburr finished parts.
· Manage your tooling library including sharpening / regrinding each week & to repair / replace damaged tooling.
· Recycling of material when appropriate to do so.
The candidate should:
· Display excellent health and safety awareness.
· Proven setting and operating experience with SCM, Biesse, Homag or similar flatbed routers (wood working machines) would be an advantage.
· Demonstrate excellent attention to detail.
· Show strong communication skills, decision making, and time management.
· Have strong numerical and IT skills.
· Have a willingness to learn.
· Have experience working in a production/manufacturing environment (preferred but not essential).
