About our Team
The Mental Health social care team is part of Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council’s Adult’s and Community Wellbeing Offer. The team comprises of four subsections supporting adults with a functional diagnosis of mental health.
The AMHP Team focus on referrals under the pathway of the Mental Health Act 1983 (Amended 2007). The teamwork across all age groups and with individuals experiencing both Organic and functional mental ill health.
The Mental Health front door team are a duty team to respond to the most urgent cases needing support under the Care Act 2014. This service also includes the Mental Health Enablement Pathway, ensuring the duties of The Care Act are adhered to and promote and achieve the prevention and wellbeing principle.
There are two community teams that manage all long-term Care Act mental health support and reviews.
The team provides proportionate and targeted support to people at the right time to ensure maximum independence. The service is focused on recovery, reablement, empowerment, and social inclusion, that emphasises prevention and early intervention.
This is an excellent opportunity to develop work with individuals to achieve their goals/outcomes and promote independence and autonomy using a strength-based, person-centred approach. You will be working as part of one of the community teams or on the Front Door Team. For 3 of the 4 experienced social worker posts, there will also be the opportunity to train up to Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) via a six-month secondment once established in the role. We also have a vacancy for a newly qualified social worker who is willing to undertake the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) program.
