Seeking a Senior Building Surveyor to join a national Construction Consultancy. Hays Property and Surveying are seeking a Senior Building Surveyor to join a growing National Construction Consultancy working across the South East of England. The company is a growing multidisciplined Construction Consultancy with a national presence. They provide a range of services including building surveying, cost consultancy, project management, structural engineering and architecture and design, through a variety of specialised brands trading under one group. Their Building Consultancy business works with a wide portfolio of clients, predominantly within the insurance claims sector, providing professional building and project management advice. The company recently opened a new Surrey office, responsible for servicing clients across the South East of England. The office is continuing to grow, and they are now looking to appoint an additional Senior Building Surveyor who will contribute to its ongoing success. The role is currently being offered with an expectation of attending the office once a week, and working from home, or travelling to sites across the South East, predominantly in Surrey and Kent. Your new role As a Senior Building Surveyor, you will be responsible for providing a range of professional building consultancy services to a portfolio of clients. Workloads will be a blend of professional and project related work, operating predominately within the insurance claim sector. This will include primarily high end residential and commercial buildings, where you will be responsible for inspecting and diagnosing flood, fire and storm damage, alongside the delivery of multiple construction projects. Key responsibilities - Undertake condition reports, defect diagnosis and building surveys for insurance claims. Prepare work specifications, schedules and tenders for a variety of construction work. Provide advice on the repair, maintenance and refurbishment for a variety of building types. Oversee and project manage building works from inception to completion. Provide general building surveying related professional consultancy advice. Play an active role in promoting the business, supporting its growth and assisting with APC candidates. What you'll need to succeed MRICS qualified Significant post-qualification experience working within a building consultancy environment Preferably, hold experience and knowledge of the insurance repair sector. Proficient skills in undertaking condition reports, building surveys and defect diagnosis. Experience of delivering a variety of construction projects, including preparing work specifications and building contracts. Sound knowledge of Health & Safety and building contract forms, i.e. JCT/ NEC. Strong commercial skills, self-drive and leadership qualities.
