Main duties of the job
General responsibilities include:
1. Act as Key Person for named children carrying out observations and developmental reports for each child, meeting with parents as appropriate
2. Undertake and lead on additional responsibilities such as SENCO, training co-ordinator, safeguarding Officer etc.
3. Ensure the service provided is non-discriminatory and promotes positive images for all groups within society.
4. Promote and support safeguarding of children in the nursery, ensuring compliance with nursery policy and procedures.
5. Conduct daily risk assessments and report any issues to the nursery manager.
6. Supervise and support Nursery Practitioners, students, and volunteers.
7. Assist the nursery manager in day-to-day nursery management and cover responsibilities when they are off site.
8. Engage with nursery practitioners to support planning activities and report writing.
9. Work with the nursery manager in developing and implementing nursery policies and procedures.
10. Assist in planning staff training to ensure the team is up to date.

Experience
* 1 year management experience
* SENCO experience
* Written and verbal communication skills
* Knowledge of EYFS
* Foundation degree in childcare and education
* Designated safeguarding lead training
* Ability to be flexible to meet the needs of the team
* Demonstrated honesty, reliability, and trustworthiness
Skills
* Willingness to 'have a go'
