Our client, a leading worldwide specialist in Satellite Communications Infrastructure, is looking for an experienced Digital Design Engineer to join their dynamic team on a contract basis.
This is a hybrid role, and will be based out of their Hereford office 3 days per week.
Working across critical projects in Defence, Telecommunications, Broadcasting, Oil and Gas, and Marine industries, you will play a crucial role in high-speed digital designs (DDR4).
The Project:
The design focuses on integrating an FPGA SOM into a larger system, ensuring compatibility and high-speed connectivity with other components. The project involves advanced PCB design techniques for high-speed digital and RF signals, requiring precision in clocking, layout, and power delivery.
Key responsibilities:
1. Develop, configure, and troubleshoot interfaces critical to satellite systems, such as DDR4 for memory solutions and JESD204 for data converters.
2. Design, simulate, and verify digital circuits for satellite communications, ensuring efficient and reliable data transmission.
3. Work collaboratively with the broader engineering team to ensure designs and solutions meet key requirements.
Essential skills and experience:
1. Experience with DDR4 design and implementation.
2. Hands-on expertise with JESD204 data converters.
3. Strong knowledge of digital design principles, circuit implementation, and troubleshooting.
4. Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team.
5. Experience working in Satellite Communications or Telecommunications industries.
Hybrid – 3 days per week on site in Hereford.
