The Role
:
As a Residential Youth Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in the lives of young people who require social, emotional, and mental health support. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Providing day-to-day care and support to young people.
2. Assisting in daily routines to ensure their well-being.
3. Encouraging engagement with educational support and homework.
4. Organising and participating in recreational activities.
5. Creating a safe and welcoming environment.
Key Responsibilities:
6. Build strong relationships with young people, promoting trust and emotional well-being.
7. Empower and motivate them to achieve their goals and overcome challenges.
8. Foster a positive and supportive atmosphere within the home.
9. Maintain accurate records and documentation.
10. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best outcomes for the young people in your care.
What you’ll bring:
11. Compassion, patience, and a genuine desire to make a difference in young people’s lives.
12. A willingness to work towards or current qualification in QCF level 3 in Residential Childcare.
13. Previous experience working with children or young people is a plus but not mandatory.
14. Resilience to be able to deal with challenging situations.
15. Positive role model – honesty and empathy are a must.
16. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
17. Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

36. Ofsted regulations outline that support workers working with children and young people must be 3 years older than the oldest young person within the home e.g., if a young person in the home was turning 18, you would need to be 21 at a minimum.
