The role of a Trainee Fire and Security Engineer: As a Trainee Fire and Security Engineer, you will receive hands-on training and support to develop the skills needed to install, maintain, and service a variety of fire alarm systems, CCTV, intruder alarms, access control, and other security equipment. You will work closely with experienced engineers, learning the fundamentals of the industry while gaining practical experience and building your technical knowledge. Key Responsibilities: Assist with the repairs, maintenance, and servicing of fire alarm systems, CCTV, intruder alarms, and access control systems. Learn how to diagnose and repair faults in security and fire protection equipment under the guidance of senior engineers. Work closely with customers, providing excellent service and ensuring systems are installed to the highest standards. Develop knowledge of relevant industry regulations and standards, ensuring compliance in all work. Attend training sessions and participate in educational courses to improve technical skills and qualifications. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of work completed, including service reports and certifications. Follow health and safety guidelines, ensuring a safe working environment at all times. Shadow senior engineers to learn the intricacies of system troubleshooting, programming, and commissioning. Requirements: A genuine interest in the fire and security industry and a desire to develop a long-term career. No prior experience is required; however, any technical background (e.g. electrical or engineering studies) would be beneficial. Strong problem-solving skills and a keen attention to detail. Good communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and team members. A full UK driving license (or in the process of obtaining one) is essential. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. A willingness to learn and develop new skills in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
