Job summary A fixed term/secondment opportunity has arisen for a Consultant Applied Psychologist to join the Tees Crisis Service for a period of 6 months. This would suit an existing Consultant Applied Psychologist who is looking to develop their skills and knowledge within a Crisis Service or as a developmental opportunity for an Applied Psychologist with the required knowledge, skills and experience. The post holder would provide a much valued and high quality applied psychological provision through consultation, supervision, formulation, training, and participation in clinical governance. The role will be primarily based within the North Intensive Home Treatment Team with input into the Crisis Triage and Assessment Service as required. A significant part of the role will also involve working alongside the other senior members of the Tees Crisis Service to support the Service Manager and Supercell in delivering a high-quality service and continuing service development. Main duties of the job The post holder will work with highly complex presentations suitable for an experienced psychologist through applying expertise and knowledge and adapting both formulation and evidence-based approaches in individual and person-centred ways. Supervising other professionals and assistant psychologists to deliver lower-level interventions will be an essential aspect of this role. The Consultant Applied Psychologist will be supported by a Highly Specialist Applied Psychologist and Three Higher Assistant Psychologists working across the service as well as linking in with the wider psychology team across the DTV Urgent Care Group. The post holder will be an integral and key member of the Crisis leadership team influencing psychological thinking, promotion, and support of staff wellbeing.
