The Role:
In Cyber Prevent, the Solution Engineers work closely alongside the Platform Managers as part of the platform leadership team for their cyber security platform/s, which will collectively ensure:
* Their platform/s provide an effective first line of defence for the related Cyber Security Baseline controls and are delivering optimum risk reduction to meet the required adequacy and coverage for the platform/s.
* Ensure their platform/s are globally consistent; effective and efficient.
* Work intimately with central Group Technology and Cyber Security teams & globally dispersed local Cyber Security teams to ensure that the related Cyber Security Baseline controls Vodafone’s global risk posture relating to the platform is being appropriately managed.
* Support to deliver optimal platform effectiveness (right tools, right rules, right coverage, right insight, and right response).
* Action in response to cyber security platform incidents in order to reduce immediate risk.
What you’ll do
The Solution Engineers will act as Vodafone’s cyber security platform technical experts and product owner.
* Liaise with different vendor product groups organising regular update and roadmap sessions feeding strategic knowledge into relevant parts of Cyber Security.
* Accountable for the technical competence of the cyber security platforms.
* Use technical KPIs to measure the adequacy of the platforms to meet internal assurance baseline controls.
* Be responsible and accountable for defining, driving and delivering the global platform roadmap and support the virtual & matrixed platform technical teams to design, build and lifecycle manage the platform.
* Use own personal experience and judgement to be able to quickly determine the right technical treatment for their cyber security platform/s.
* Required to operate effectively in a complex, dynamic, and constantly changing environment.
* Active & compelling engagement of teams and internal and external to Vodafone stakeholders will be crucial in creating the momentum required.
* A close relationship and collaboration with the Strategy and Secure By Design (SBD) team will be needed to contribute to the technical strategy for the platform.
* The Solution Engineer role will require technically competent and effective communicators and collaborators.
* Acting as ambassadors and role models for Global Cyber Security advocating for security best practice, consistency in approach.
* Support the Platform Manager in the service availability & quality management of the platform including demand management, service design, platform management, change management, licence management, continual service improvement. Conduct regular service reviews.
* Support the Delivery Manager to ensure that Platform business demands, projects and risk reduction activities are optimally scheduled and delivered.
Who you are
Apply if you have:
* In depth knowledge of Microsoft security capabilities including Microsoft Defender for Identity, Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps, Microsoft Information Protection, Microsoft Exchange Online Protection and Microsoft Defender for Office 365.
* A strong understanding of Microsoft Office 365 and Microsoft Azure.
* Professional operational experience in cyber security operations or cyber security engineering, cyber security platform management.
* Track record of delivering cyber security platform operations in a complex & dynamic technology environment.
* Personal experience and judgement to be able to quickly determine the right operational treatment of cyber security platforms.
* Strong analytical skills to inform effective data driven decisions on service improvement & risk reduction.
