The Role My client is seeking an experienced Solar Electrician to join their growing team. As a Solar Electrician, you will play a key role in the installation, maintenance, and commissioning of high-quality solar photovoltaic (PV) systems for both residential and commercial properties. Key Responsibilities Installation: Carry out electrical installations of solar PV systems, ensuring compliance with all current regulations and standards (e.g., IET Wiring Regulations, BS 7671, etc.). Commissioning & Testing: Perform commissioning, functional testing, and fault diagnosis on solar PV systems to ensure all installations are safe and operational. Maintenance: Provide ongoing maintenance and repairs for solar PV systems, diagnosing and rectifying electrical faults as needed. Health and Safety: Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times, including working at heights, ensuring safe working practices are followed on all job sites. Customer Interaction: Communicate with customers in a professional and courteous manner, ensuring their needs are met and providing guidance on system operation and care. Documentation: Complete relevant paperwork, including system installation and service reports, and ensure all records are kept up to date. Team Collaboration: Work alongside other electricians and technicians to ensure smooth operations and high-quality service delivery. What My Client is Looking For Experience: Proven experience as a Solar Electrician or Electrician with experience in solar PV systems installation. Qualifications: Full electrical qualifications (e.g., 18th Edition, NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations). City & Guilds 2399 or equivalent (desirable). MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme) qualification (desirable). Skills: Strong electrical knowledge and expertise in solar PV installation. Experience with commissioning, fault finding, and repairs in solar energy systems. Ability to work independently and manage your own workload. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Health and Safety: A solid understanding of health and safety regulations, with the ability to apply them on-site.
