Are you passionate about IT security and infrastructure? Join the dynamic team of my client who are based in Central London as an IT Security Engineer. You will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing our IT security systems, ensuring the protection of our physical and virtual operating system estate. This includes managing Windows operating systems, antivirus/malware systems, device control systems, Active Directory, Intune, Azure Entra, and mobile device management.
This position is full time and based in Kings Cross.
Other duties for this job include:
* Ensuring the Windows PC and Server estate remains regularly patched including organising testing of new updates.
* Responsibility for ensuring the Antivirus and Anti-Malware systems remain up-to-date and investigating and neutralising any threats detected by this system.
* Maintain a relationship with 3rd party companies who provide a managed service for supporting SIEM and security analytical systems.
* Manage and monitor cloud AD, compliance policies and conditional access misconfigurations.
* Manage mobile devices.
* Investigate intelligence reports and alerts detected by the threat and vulnerability scanning systems.
* Assist with the management of the email filtering system.
* Take a lead on IT security by establishing the best IT practices and security standards and implementing security controls.
* Implementation and management of security controls, such as Group Policy and folder permissions.
* Assist with IT Infrastructure projects as required.
* Support the Infrastructure team as required to ensure that tasks are completed on time.
* To respond to emergency requests for support in a timely manner and escalate appropriately.
This is a busy and varied position so candidates MUST have the following experience:
* 12-18 months experience as an IT Infrastructure Engineer.
* Experience of IT, Security and Desktop support.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
* Highly skilled in use of Microsoft operating systems.
* Flexible, highly motivated, effective team player.
