Job Introduction
An opportunity is available for a Craftsperson (Jointing) based in Nottingham.
In this role, you will be required to undertake Jointing techniques up to 66kV, including excavation, cable laying, reinstatement, and fault location on LV cables.
Candidates are required to have City & Guilds 2339 or equivalent and low voltage cable jointing authorisation as a minimum. A*-C/4-9 GCSE in English and Maths or Functional Skills Level 2 qualification in both subjects.
* Please note the successful candidate may initially be appointed at a lower salary until all relevant courses and training are complete.
This role is subject to a satisfactory Barring Service (DBS) check, depending on the role different levels of screening and vetting are required. Some roles require a triannual check.
Candidates must live within 30 minutes from Nottingham Depot.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful applicant will ideally have underground experience. Consideration will be given to applicants who do not possess all the skills required to undertake the role at present but have the confidence and ability to reach the necessary standards with appropriate training.
You must be able to work on your own initiative as part of a small team, making on-the-spot decisions as required and working to tight deadlines. A flexible attitude is essential, as you will be required to undertake other duties to assist the team in meeting its objectives. In addition, you will need to be mobile throughout the area as you may be required to undertake standby duties.
