Summary We're looking for a Facilities Co-ordinator with the skills to keep our built properties in the South Downs in tiptop condition and running smoothly for all the people who visit and love the place. This is a 10 hour per week fixed term role ending on 28th February 2026. Likely to be 2 week days, will be discussed at interview. We're currently undertaking our pay review process and it is likely that this salary will be increased from 1st April 2025. What it's like to work here This role reports into the Facilities Manager for the Eastern South Downs. We are a small but vital team working across a diverse range of properties, all with their own bespoke needs. Birling Gap is our coastal property and attracts over 500k visitors a year and is a fast-paced tourist attraction. We also have two small but hugely significant properties. Alfriston Clergy House is a jewel in our crown. It has been with the National Trust from inception. Whilst Monks House is the 16th-century cottage of Virginia and Leonard Woolf. Full of Bloomsbury treasures, the house reflects the owners and their guests who included T S Eliot and E M Foster. Saddlescombe Farm is our ancient farm hamlet surrounded by chalk grassland, the oldest part of the present-day farmhouse dates from around 1630 but most of the current farm buildings are Victorian. Every site has its own unique beauty and its own set of challenges. What you'll be doing As the Facilities Co-ordinator, you’ll be making sure that each site operates as it should, by running an efficient, effective and flexible facilities service. You’ll help the property team to meet their goals by keeping standards high. You’ll be helping with maintenance and repairs (reactive, as well as planned and preventative), the presentation of public areas and visitor facilities (including car parks and grounds), compliance checks and efficient records maintenance.
