Patients attending the unit are referred by Emergency Departments, GP & UTC practices, and other clinical specialities with suspected Surgical, Urological or Gastroenterology conditions. The unit also hosts a range of review clinics and treatments for patients. The underlying principle behind this unit is managing patients outside of the hospital bed base as much as possible.
