Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen with the gynaecology service for a dual role of Lead nurse for Gynaecology Outpatients and Deputy Lead Nurse Colposcopist. We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual with previous women's health experience to be part of our friendly dynamic multidisciplinary team The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate excellent leadership skills and have experience in managing staff within a clinical environment. They will be expected to undertake audits and deputise for the lead nurse colposcopist. Applications should be self motivated, flexible, forward thinking and be able to lead and develop the nursing team. Ideally the candidate would be BSCCP accredited however we would be willing to train a suitable candidate in colposcopy. Main duties of the job Responsibility for the management and delivery of clinical services within the Gynaecology outpatient department clinic With support from matron manage complaints, HR management, and resolution of incident forms and local governance issues. Providing professional leadership and management to all non-medical members of staff and work in conjunction with all members of the multidisciplinary team. To work in partnership with lead consultants, matron, deputy assistant service manager, deputy general manager and general manager to manage provision and modify clinic resources and any strategic issues associated with the clinic. Ensuring that at all time there is appropriate clinical cover for the department and adjusting and escalating where required in order to ensure that clinical standards are maintained at all times. As an accredited Nurse Colposcopist works autonomously in a nurse-led Colposcopy and smear clinic to assess, diagnose, treat, and review patients referred to Colposcopy clinic.
