About the role: To ensure we can make the most of developing technologies in digital education we have an exciting opportunity to join us in a new role as the Extended Realities Development Manager In this role you will be responsible for developing and executing our XR strategy, including identifying and exploring new technologies, trends and opportunities for funded projects to ensure we can remain at the forefront of the field. This will involve project managing XR projects from conception to deployment, coordinating as they progress with other teams including marketing, product development and IT. This role involves recruiting, managing and mentoring a team of XR developers, designers, and engineers to foster a collaborative and innovative working environment so they're best able to create immersive experiences that align with the company’s strategic goals. You will be required to support the Learning Environment team, on a daily basis, alongside your colleagues and provide the occasional holiday and sickness cover as and when required. This is a permanent, full-time role that can be based at any of our campuses in Oxfordshire, Berkshire or Surrey. There is the opportunity to work from home for up to two days per week. What do you need to be a successful as an Extended Realities Development Manager at Activate Learning? To thrive in this role you'll need to be an excellent leader, with strong analytical and communications skills and a passion for exploring new technologies and driving innovation. We are looking for candidates who possess: Proven track record of project management evidenced through timely delivery and documentation demonstrating resource management, prioritisation and development activities Demonstratable experience in people management Proven track record of successfully delivering XR projects Experience working with various XR technologies and platforms (e.g., Unity, Unreal Engine, ARKit, ARCore) Proficiency in programming languages such as C#, C++, and Python Strong understanding of 3D modelling, animation, and UX/UI design principles Knowledge of XR hardware (e.g., VR headsets, AR glasses) and related peripherals Ideally candidates will also have at least a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
