Landscape Gardener Location: THORPE PARK Resort, KT16 8PN Hours: 40 Hours per week, will include weekend work, early shifts Salary: £26,000 This is a key role within our busy Technical Services Landscape and conservation team. You will help the Landscape and conservation department to deliver excellent levels of soft and hard landscaping, ensuring Thorpe Park Resort is efficiently presented to the highest standards possible. You will be encouraged to work closely, safely and flexibly with your colleagues from all Technical Services teams if required, principally supporting hard landscaping activities and ride area maintenance. Responsibilities: To support in the presentation and preparation of any planting areas throughout the park. This will include caring for and maintaining existing plant stock at the farm in preparation for planting. Maintaining Ride Area safety – ensuring ride clearances are always fully and appropriately maintained, identifying, and supporting manager with any Arboriculture or other works required. Ride stoppage due to plant growth encroaching into ride envelope is unsafe, expensive and effects guest experience. Using the wide range of landscaping machinery available, safely and efficiently maintain grass and hedging throughout the guest facing areas to the highest standard. For back of house areas, grass and hedge maintenance standards of maintenance need to be balanced within budgets considerations. Supporting fencing or pavement repairs and reinstatement where needed within landscape areas, supporting, or controlling contractors through larger projects as required. Support your team to help develop robust safe systems of work that will support a safety-first culture within your team. Ensure all landscaping equipment is safe to use, inspect and maintain as required, working with your manager to develop planned maintenance with support from contractors (Farols) as required. 5 years experience of horticultural or grounds maintenance City and Guilds level 2, RHS level 2 qualifications or equivalent level of workplace experience within Horticulture preferable. PA1 & 6 preferable Experience in either Arboriculture, hard landscaping, or Conservation within parkland environment desirable.
