Sustainability Analyst (12-Month Fixed-Term Contract)

Role Overview
Reporting to the Steam Thermal Solutions Sustainability Manager, the Sustainability Analyst will work closely with the Steam Thermal Solutions Sustainability Team and with global Divisional and Operating Company sustainability contacts to ensure the accuracy and integrity of all sustainability data and communications to meet our ambitious sustainability commitments.
Your Objectives And Responsibilities Will Focus On…
* Review sustainability data submissions (energy, water, waste, business travel and other Scope 3 emissions) of all Steam Thermal Solutions Operating Companies to identify and correct any errors or omissions, ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and completeness of this data for Group reporting.
* Input corrected/additional data where necessary into our sustainability reporting software when Operating Companies are unable to comply with deadlines or when data errors are identified.
* Analyse Operating Company and Business level performance against our One Planet targets and any interim goals.
* Act as Community Engagement Key contact for Steam Thermal Solutions ensuring all activities are recorded with sufficient detail to meet Group reporting requirements.
* Liaise with Operating Companies and Sustainability Champions to ensure we record all community engagement, volunteering, and biodiversity data for reporting. Review data to identify and correct any errors or omissions and ensure the data has been submitted via the relevant reporting outputs e.g. the One Planet SI2 biodiversity spreadsheet.
* Maintain the OpCo Key Contacts Master List for all internal communications to include, but not limited to, all local Sustainability and Community Engagement Champions, and sustainability reporting software users.
* Coordinate the completion of Business level sustainability questionnaires and other customer sustainability requirements/information requests e.g. EcoVadis.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with the nominated Sustainability and Community Engagement Champions, and sustainability reporting software users in all Steam Thermal Solutions Operating Companies. Facilitate productive dialogues around data submissions and their sustainability and volunteering performance.
* Provide sustainability reporting software training and expertise to data inputters to boost their technical knowledge and skills, to improve the efficiency and accuracy of Operating Company level data submissions.
* Provide sustainability support and advice across Steam Thermal Solutions including to regional specialists and Champions.
* Contribute to meetings with the wider Steam Thermal Solutions Sustainability Team, including Divisional Managers, to communicate key updates and identify new actions/tasks.
* Deputise for the Steam Thermal Solutions Sustainability Manager, as required, for meetings including Strategic Initiative teams (One Planet SI2, SI3, SI6, and other working groups e.g. Greentrack, International Day of Charity). Take notes, represent the needs of the Business, and identify new actions/tasks.
* Support the Sustainability Manager with the Sustainability Communications Plan to increase knowledge and engagement of colleagues.
* Create best practice case studies to enhance the Sustainability Toolbox library to help Operating Companies to improve their sustainability performance.
* Engage with the wider sustainability community through various internal communication channels including Teams groups, One Place, and Social Place. Draft articles, share case studies, post information/updates, and respond/react to sustainability related posts.
* Promote and help develop community engagement activities in Steam Thermal Solutions as required.
Your Previous Experience Is Likely To Include…
* A background in the Sustainability or Environmental sector, or a strong interest in the field with relevant transferable skills.
* Working to a high degree of detail and accuracy.
* Accurately recording, interpreting, interrogating, and presenting sustainability data.
