Description Overview
Lead and drive change within the business focusing on productivity within the packing process for existing and new business.
Evaluate product quality through quantitative and qualitative data analysis to ensure products and processes are consistently produced within their quality critical attributes.
Support with the introduction of new products and processes. Identify opportunities to execute projects and plans for improvement of processes and products.
Scope of the Role
* Troubleshoot and resolve packaging issues associated with packaging component quality, packaging equipment, and packaging line efficiency.
* Develop cost saving initiatives and troubleshoot packaging problems.
* Work closely with other functional areas to help deliver New Product Introduction and new process introduction.
* Liaise with suppliers for non-conformance resolution and improvement activity.
* Manage packaging related CAPAs or Quality events.
* Conduct trials to approve new components through use of appropriate trial control documentation.
Experience Required
* A minimum of or working towards a Diploma in Packaging Technology. An engineering qualification would be advantageous.
* Minimum of 3 years’ experience working within the packer filler industry in pharmaceutical, automotive or food related sectors and demonstrates a thorough knowledge of packaging opportunities and limitations.
* Lean Sigma Green belt trained or knowledge of the principles of six sigma / lean management, and experience of working in an environment employing some elements of lean management.
* An understanding of Cape Pack or alternative packing software would be advantageous.
* Has experience operating in a cGMP and ISO9001/2008 environment and its application in process improvement and change management.
* A sound understanding of problem-solving techniques.
