An exciting opportunity has arisen to be part of a new team supporting a 6-year-old young girl with cerebral palsy, epilepsy, developmental delay, with physical and visual impairment, in the Tamworth area. We are looking for individuals who are outgoing, energetic, active and enjoy working with children. You will be assisting the client with her personal care, medication, gastrostomy care her night-time routine. As well as her morning routine to have her ready for school, for going out in the community and having fun. This role will suit someone who is experienced working with children and awaking nights, is patient and doesn t panic in an emergency and with positive attitude towards inclusion. You will need to be physically able to carry out all her activities and her therapy program. You will work alongside the Team Leader, the family and Case Manager. The position therefore requires that you work and conduct yourself in a manner that is acceptable to the employer. You will be expected to work weekends, additional hours if required and to cover special events such as holidays. Any overtime will be at the discretion of the team leader and authorised by the Case Manager What you'll be working: Non-Term Time - Monday Sunday Waking Night - 7pm-7am Term time - Monday Thursday Waking Night 11pm 8.30am Friday Waking Night 10pm 7am Saturday - Sunday Waking Night 7am 7pm What you'll be doing: To assist in making available a wide range of activities to the client, to enable the client s integration into the local community. To provide support with personal care, both at home and when out in the community. Participate in external training and development activities as required Comply with all the employers procedures including financial, human resource, and health and safety. Strong communication skills are necessary for effective interaction with children, families, and colleagues. Experience in following care plans will be beneficial in this role. Administrative Responsibilities Experience in following care plans will be beneficial in this role. Familiarity with IT systems for record keeping and communication purposes is advantageous To liaise and keep the Team Leader and Case Manager informed of all progress and any other matters of relevance. To be available for regular supervision with the Team Leader and Case Manager To complete online and attend training in relevant areas. What you'll have: Successful candidates will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS. Full Clean Driving Licence. Being able to drive is essential and a manual car is provided on shift. At least 1 year of working with children with disabilities. Excellent communication skills and clear speaking English. Working as part of a team.
