Overview:
The Engineering Business Development Manager (BDM) plays a critical role in driving the growth and expansion of the company’s engineering services or products. This individual is responsible for identifying, developing, and nurturing business opportunities with both new and existing clients. The role requires a blend of technical understanding, commercial acumen, and excellent relationship-building skills to effectively communicate the company’s engineering solutions and secure business deals.

Key Responsibilities:
Business Opportunity Identification:
* Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities within the engineering sector.

Sales and Lead Generation:

Relationship Management:

* Act as the primary point of contact for client inquiries, issues, and project feedback.
Project Oversight & Coordination:
* Work closely with project management and engineering teams to ensure the smooth execution of projects.
* Support project teams by providing market insights and customer feedback to help tailor solutions to client needs.
* Oversee project timelines, budgets, and quality to ensure successful delivery and client satisfaction.
Strategic Planning & Reporting:
* Develop business development strategies that align with the company's overall goals and objectives.
* Monitor industry trends and technological advancements to inform business development strategies.
* Track and report on sales performance, including new leads, revenue generation, and market expansion.
* Provide regular updates to senior management on progress, challenges, and opportunities.
Collaboration and Cross-functional Teamwork:
* Collaborate with marketing, engineering, and product teams to align business development efforts with overall product offerings.
* Provide input into product development based on market feedback and client needs.
* Participate in industry events, conferences, and trade shows to promote the company’s engineering solutions.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
Education:
* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Software, or related field) preferred.
Experience:
* 5+ years of experience in business development or sales, ideally within an engineering or technical services environment.
* Proven track record of driving revenue growth and closing large-scale deals.
* Experience in managing client relationships, including negotiating contracts and managing expectations.
* Prior experience in working with technical teams to deliver engineering solutions.
Technical Skills:
* Strong understanding of engineering products and services, along with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
