Are you looking for truly flexible hours during the week that completely suit your needs? Whether you’re looking for one day a week or mornings only; whatever it is, we can build a part-time work pattern for you which will ideally include 1:4 Saturdays, here at Bury St Edmunds Vets for Pets!
As an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse you’ll be joining a hard-working and inclusive team who are passionate about being at the heart of the local community. Our practice provides excellent facilities giving you access to all the equipment and space you need to care for your patients. Based on the Morton Hall Retail Park, we are in a great location with ample parking and fantastic access to local amenities.
We have a team of talented Client Care Advisors to support the client journey, freeing up our Nurses to carry out their roles effectively and enabling you to lead and manage nurse clinics and perform schedule 3 procedures.
Our nursing team is composed of 2 FT RVNs and 1 PT RVN, as well as 1 SVN. Our head nurse and senior RVN each have over 25 years of experience so this position would suit a recent graduate in search for their first role or excellent overall support.
We also have 3 vets, 2 of which have over 20 years experience. Ana is currently finishing her certificate in Ophthalmology and Vanessa has a post-graduate in Small Furries, so the practice sees a fair amount of exotics, giving you plenty of variety in cases and to your day. Ana is keen to let her team grow and will support any interests you have.
Along with a competitive salary starting at £27,000 (FTE, DOE), we offer all the standard benefits you’d expect from a major employer (pension, healthcare, paid memberships, competitive salary etc.) plus a few more, such as excellent career progression and exclusive lifestyle and shopping discounts (up to 20% off at Pets at Home).
You should have excellent customer service and communication skills, and a good experience of veterinary nursing with a genuine interest in animal welfare, enjoying the variety provided by the clients and colleagues alike.
We are investors in people. If you think you can make a unique contribution through your values and behaviours, we want to hear from you!

Pets just see people. They aren’t biased and they don’t discriminate. We take our inspiration from pets, and we value and respect difference in all its forms. Our aim is to reflect the diversity of the communities we operate in, and every colleague can help us achieve this. We encourage our people to be themselves so even if your skills and experience don’t perfectly align, if you think you can make a unique contribution through your values and behaviours, we want to hear from you!
