The role
As a Propositions Manager, you will support the Head of Product Portfolio in the management of the CIPD’s range of products, ensuring that the portfolio provides the basis for a winning proposition to members and customers, and commercial success.
You’ll play a vital role and you’ll evaluate and develop proposals for new products and services, manage existing ones and continually evaluate the impact our work is having, with a particular focus on membership and integration of offerings from across the portfolio.
What you’ll be doing
* Identifying (based on inputs from the Insights team) the priority needs of customers and developing high-level propositions for them.
* Articulating customer needs to product teams (those managing content, community, events, assessments etc.) to direct product development.
* Evaluating the effectiveness of current products and propositions against agreed targets.
* Agreeing plans for new product development (features, customer groups, targets and measures). Feeding into decisions on pricing within the CIPD’s wider product governance.
* Working with Marcomms to develop promotional plans for propositions and products to ensure propositions are appropriately embedded in journeys and experiences.
* Developing new bundles and integrations across the CIPD product portfolio.
* Coordinating target-setting for product categories and feeding these targets into budgeting, forecasting and reporting processes.
* Leading on budgeting and forecasting for membership and other subscription products.
* Coordinating cross-organisational work to manage renewals of membership and other subscription projects, chairing renewals team meetings and board of senior stakeholders.
* Writing operational reports on product development activity for Board and other senior stakeholders.
* Supporting the set-up and maintenance of membership agreements with other professional bodies.
What you’ll need to be successful
* Experience processing complex information and developing well-evidenced business cases and proposals. An organised and methodical approach.
* Experience evaluating costs and benefits, effectively analysing data and tracking financial performance, this include supporting budgeting, forecasting and modelling processes.
* Experience of working with external suppliers and partners.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills, and the ability to develop strong relationships with cross-functional teams.
* A strong customer-focused mindset. An understanding of the people profession and the challenges faced by people professionals.
* An understanding of the role of professional bodies in the development of professions and their obligations to their members.
