A multi-billion dollar AUM, US headquartered hedge fund, are looking to make a newly created, senior level ‘Portfolio Analytics’ hire into its rapidly expanding London office. Whilst the European office has a developed marketing / business development function, performance analysts currently all sit in the US. We are looking to hire a dedicated portfolio analytics / performance professional for the firm’s European marketing efforts. The hire will have the continued support of the US performance team, however he/she will take ownership for performance analytics, reporting & commentaries, multi-asset (it is vital that the hire is competent and confident enough to write detailed commentaries and explain performance analytics to the most senior level of management, in detail, from day one). This is a highly visible and autonomous role where the hire will develop close working relationships with a number of functions including risk management, legal & compliance, marketing and product specialist teams, but also industry recognised investment professionals. Project work also forms a key part of the role – leading efforts to developing / enhancing / automating performance reporting processes. This is both hands-on working with tech/quant teams, as project manager, to lead more complex infrastructure development projects. The hire can expect to use / learn SQL, Python and VBA to a strong standard in this role. As the function looks to grow in London and the hire continues to build himself/herself in this role, the expectation is for greater involvement with client facing responsibilities / more direct assistance in the asset raising process, for example attending investor meetings and/or pitches alongside fundraisers and product specialists. Candidates should have exceptional academics, ideally from a STEM or finance/economics background. We are ideally looking for 5-10yrs relevant experience, ideally with a strong weighting towards performance reporting/analysis, preferably from a hedge fund background, with multi-asset experience. Existing coding skills are required, with a strong preference for abilities in SQL and Python. The role is projected to pay a £200-250k total comp, with year-on-year growth potential. The firm provide an excellent benefits package, which includes a gold healthcare package, large pension, fully subsidised gym & breakfast/lunch etc. A sign-on bonus will be provided to more than make up for any loss of earnings resigning post-bonus.
