As Production Manager, you will be responsible for the production team and for the production of mixed paints for wood coatings, industrial & metal coatings, and aerosols, making it a key role within the business. You will ensure the company achieves the throughput, efficiency, and quality of produced materials while developing good relationships between the production team and other business teams. It is important to recognize that if production is disrupted and goods aren’t delivered, the perception of our brand and company could be damaged.
As part of the production team, you will plan, organize, coordinate, and control operations. You will also be responsible for local area stock control within the facility and maintain kanban stocks of key products as appropriate. You will be expected to participate in regular review meetings about production and be part of the Operations Leadership Team.
Performance Objectives
* Responsible for health and safety in your working environment.
Supporting OTIF:
* Production / Manufacture of the required daily demand of products.
* Production / Manufacture of any kanban or buffer stock.
* Resource planning / allocation throughout the day to ensure maximum output of orders received.
* Updating the Sales teams with order progress.
* Update Order Wise with the latest order status, product, and build plan information.
* Working with colleagues to ensure that they support our production needs, and that the production processes run efficiently and cost-effectively.
* Building strong working relationships internally.
* Meeting deadlines and contributing to an excellent level of service to clients of the business.
Supporting Cost Control:
* Budgeting.
* Reduce process waste and unnecessary costs to create a streamlined process that supports fast production throughput times.
* Checking that quality standards are met.

Responsibilities/Duties Frequency
DEPT 1 – Production
1. Manage / Supervise the team – resource management during the day. Daily
2. Ensure a clean and safe working environment is maintained and H&S adhered to. Daily
3. Ensure all production orders are fulfilled within a timely manner, meeting Elmbridge expectation of next day delivery. Daily / Weekly
4. Inform Sales Team of order status (through Order Wise) and inform of any delay in production. As required
5. Ensure wrong build plans are identified, systems updated, and sales order or product code data amended. As required
6. Formulation Requests handled with relevant manufacturer’s. As required
7. Ensure maintenance of all Paint mixing equipment for consistent use. Daily
8. Involved with physical production and cover for team members when they are off. As required
9. Clear communication with stock control departments and purchasing requirements / stock discrepancies. As required
DEPT 2 – Team Management
10. Daily Huddle with Production Team. Daily
11. Hold Weekly Production Meeting. Weekly
12. Attend Weekly Operation Meeting (HoD). Weekly
13. Upkeep of Company Required Training. As Required
DEPT 3 – Projects
14. Assisting with and implementing the Order Wise Manufacturing Module processes. As Required

* Previous experience in production at a supervisory level.
* Previous experience in a Distribution based business.
