We are looking for an assistant audiologist to assist with paediatric clinics and provide administration support in our Community Services.
The post will be based in Aldershot Centre for Health, with travel to other clinical sites including Woking Community Hospital, Bourne Hall Health Centre (Epsom), Orchard Centre (Redhill), and Kingston Hospital being expected.
Our department offers a full range of district-level Audiological services, and our service delivery model is audiologist-led.
Main duties of the job
1. To work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, within professional boundaries, ultimately accountable to the lead clinician for the service, seeking guidance from senior staff whenever necessary.
2. To undertake the role of assistant during paediatric audiological procedures according to national, professional, and local protocols, documenting any contraindications or necessary deviations from protocol in the case notes and/or medical notes, and maintaining empathy and rapport with patients/carers during testing.
3. To accurately record the outcomes of any patient contact in the case and/or medical notes (either in writing or electronically), including devices, documentation or advice given, and any relevant information or observations relating to the patient or the test conditions.
4. Ensure preparation of clinic rooms and equipment prior to and after clinic sessions, including calibration checks, and to ensure careful use of all expensive equipment, identifying faults in line with local procedures.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Good oral and written skills.
* Numerate and literate, educated to GCSE level in Maths and English (or equivalent).
* Experience of working with computers.
* Job-specific training will be provided.
* Desire to gain additional qualifications.
Knowledge
* An interest in people with hearing problems and an awareness of the difficulties they encounter.
Experience
* Experience of working with the general public.
* Experience of working with young children.
* Experience of working within an NHS health care setting.
