Covering the South, East, and West of Wales Ty Hafan offers a beautiful, newly refurbished working environment set in idyllic grounds a short distance from the metropolitan area of Cardiff. We have an exciting opportunity to join our established catering team as a Chef within the hospice. This is a part time role of 22.5 hours per week over 3 days, 7.5 hours per day with shifts between 7:00am to 18:00pm. Working hours are daytime only with some weekends but no late nights. Palliative care is defined as the total care of individuals from diagnosis of a life-shortening condition, beyond transition into adult services, or in providing extensive bereavement support. It is important to remember that paediatric palliative care is so much more than just end of life care, Ty Hafan holds enhancing quality of life at its very core. About the role The Chef is a part of a small team responsible for planning and delivering a safe and appropriate meal provision for the children, families, visitors and staff of Ty Hafan. The role involves liaising with the relevant care services staff in order to ensure that the meal provision meets with the varying needs and nutritional requirements of the children. The Chefs are expected to always act in accordance with the latest Food Hygiene Regulations. This includes ensuring that the kitchen is always kept to a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene.
