Software Engineering Manager / 12 month contract
YunoJuno have teamed up with an Energy Company who are looking to hire a Software Engineering Manager on a contract basis.
This role in a nutshell:
You will look after 2 teams of engineers, up to 7 direct reports. You’ll work closely with the teams’ Product Managers and Agile Coaches to balance quality and flow with delivery of great products to our customers. You’re unlikely to be particularly hands-on with the code, but will have excellent technical experience to set the and drive the technical vision for the team, while bringing the big picture context.
Your key outcomes will be:
● Building a strong team, so you’ll be involved in recruitment, onboarding and personal development of engineers.
● Balancing quality and flow with delivery of great products to our customers, by working closely with the teams’ Product Managers, Delivery and UX teams
● Empowering our autonomous teams and building a strong engineering culture
● Contribute in shaping and improving our Ways of Working
● Spearhead our vision for target architecture for Mobile
● Tech Accountability of our Mobile App partnering with the PL ad UX lead for overall App Accountability
You’ll be a successful if you:
● Use your influence and stakeholder management skills to have a
wide-reaching impact.
● Love building scalable, resilient, performant products.
● Have experience with React Native, native mobile development technologies,
web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript), frameworks (React, Angular,
Next.js).
● Have understanding of user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design principles.
● Have familiarity with cloud platforms and services (e.g., AWS, Azure,
Google Cloud).
● Have experience with continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD)
practices.
● Are passionate about technical excellence, you’ll find a strong culture of automated testing, frequent deployments to production, and using agile practices.
● You have experience working with high performing engineering teams, in a cross functional setup, who have a strong sense of autonomy in their technical decision making throughout feature conception, coding, testing, deployment, cloud infrastructure, monitoring, alerting, setting SLOs, and support.
Location: Hub based, either London, Bristol of Glasgow. You'll have the flexibility to work wherever suits you best.
Start date: 28th October
Duration: 12 month contract
Location: London, Glasgow or Bristol (days in office TBC)
Rate: Depending on experience
