Key Responsibilities:
* Perform a range of laboratory tests and procedures within the microbiology department, ensuring accuracy and quality.
* Analyse and interpret complex results to aid in diagnosing and managing infectious diseases.
* Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring all apparatus is functioning properly and safely.
* Ensure compliance with laboratory standards, health and safety guidelines, and quality protocols.
* Assist in training and mentoring junior staff, fostering a collaborative and effective work environment.
* Contribute to research and development projects, driving innovation and improvement in laboratory practices.
Requirements:
* Proven experience working in a UK Microbiology laboratory at Band 7 level, with a strong understanding of quality processes and standards.
* HCPC registration is essential.
* A full UK driving licence is preferable for ease of travel to various sites.
