Process Operator
We are seeking dedicated and adaptable individuals for a field-based Operator position. This Operator role involves working in a physically demanding and challenging environment, where processes may change at short notice. The ideal candidate will thrive in dynamic settings and quickly adapt to new procedures.
This is a 2-year fixed-term contract, although the majority are taken on full-time during this period.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Ensure compliance with company Health and Safety policies and relevant regulations.
2. Monitor, maintain, and start up plant operations efficiently, adhering to safety, quality, and environmental standards.
3. Report any events or incidents that may affect process continuity to the Lead Operator or Shift Manager.
4. Participate in housekeeping and emergency response as part of the second response team.
5. Conduct Total Preventative Maintenance checks and resolve issues promptly.
6. Correctly sort waste according to company environmental policies.
7. Support the Lead Operator in achieving production targets with maximum efficiency.
8. Perform tasks during scheduled downtimes and maintain department installations, machines, and tools.
9. Industrial cleaning such as HP water jetting.
10. Assist the Lead Operator in maintaining, restarting, or modifying production conditions.
11. Occasionally perform higher-level tasks if required.
Candidate Profile:
1. NVQ Level 2 or 3 in a relevant discipline (desirable).
2. Experience in continuous manufacturing processes (desirable).
3. Experience in the paper and/or power industry (advantageous).
4. Quick learner with the ability to apply new knowledge effectively.
5. Excellent team worker with the ability to work independently.
6. Flexible and highly committed.
7. Computer literate.
Further Information:
Shift Pattern:
1. 12-hour shifts: 2 days (6am-6pm) and 2 nights (6pm-6am) followed by 6 days off.
2. Continuous shift pattern throughout the year.
