£10,124.40 per annum (£12.98 per hour)

Onsite - Leyland's Estate, Derby
We are looking for a committed individual to join our Leyland’s team at our Derby Retirement Living Estate. You will support the Estate Manager, ensuring a high standard of maintenance is delivered to internal and external areas of the estate, ensuring a safe environment for our residents and staff.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
* Undertaking maintenance tasks, utilising your trade or repairs skills when required.
* Being aware of and reporting any matters relating to the condition of the estate property, materials and tools/ equipment that may require attention.
* Undertaking repairs, painting, decorating and moving and handling when required
* Work alongside the gardener to ensure communal gardens are maintained and well presented, pruning, grass cutting, clearing debris etc.
* Assisting in the inventory and maintenance of equipment, ensuring stock is replenish in a timely manner.
* Assisting in the cleaning of walls, ceilings, extractor hoods as well as the movement of furniture and equipment.
* Undertake regular checks and testing of key systems such as fire alarm, emergency lighting and equipment.
* Experience of working in a maintenance role, or similar. A trade qualification would be desired, but not essential.
* Sensitive to the needs and concerns of elderly and disabled people living on the estate.
* Ability to be aware of health and safety and fire precaution procedures.
* Enthusiasm to undertake a wide variety of tasks, training and instruction where required, such as moving and handling, health and safety, fire and first aid awareness.
* Flexibility and willingness to cover holidays where required and attending the estate in an emergency and as part of out of hours on- call rota.
* Proficient in oral and written communication, building effective relationships with residents, colleagues and external organisations.
* Ability to be aware of and use safe working practices.
You will require a calm personality, working accurately and neatly to solve daily maintenance issues in a timely manner. This role is subject to appropriate DBS check.
