Role purpose: Flutter Treasury has made significant progress with an ongoing treasury transformation project, which has included the implementation of an in-house bank, enhancing treasury systems and improving the group’s underlying banking infrastructure. The group’s in-house bank is based on a liquidity structure with virtual accounts and Flutter treasury is leveraging this infrastructure to further centralise treasury cash management and operations across the group. This transformation project is part of Flutter Treasury’s journey of continual improvement to be best-in-class treasury for a Fortune 500 organisation. Subsequent to this programme, a wider Group Finance initiative commenced in 2024 (‘Project Polaris’), which involves transformation of the full Group Finance function (including Treasury) by the end of 2027, with a group wide Oracle cloud implementation, and objectives to achieve a faster close and centralise and streamline finance processes. Reporting to the Group Treasurer, the role will play a pivotal role in driving the execution of Project Polaris & all treasury transformation initiatives, including centralisation of treasury activity across the group, ensuring that all initiatives align to project Polaris timelines and objectives. The role will be pivotal in supporting the Group Treasurer and the Group Treasury team on the strategic direction for Treasury. The role has a broad scope of responsibilities, ranging from strategic planning and risk management to stakeholder engagement and team leadership. The role will drive initiatives which will improve the efficiency of group treasury operations, enhance liquidity management, optimise financial risk management strategies and ensure that the team is fostering collaboration across relevant business functions. This role requires a seasoned project manager, with deep experience of treasury and finance transformation, preferably with Big 4 consultancy experience, possessing a strong understanding of project management and treasury transformation. The role holder requires strong leadership and communication skills. Flutter has an international presence, with the treasury team located in Dublin, Isle of Man, Leeds and London, with the majority of the treasury team being Dublin based. Flutter offers flexible working, and this role will require an element of travel. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Projects & Treasury Transformation Management Representing Treasury, operate seamlessly across the 4 Project Polaris pillars- Organisation and People, Systems and Data, Process & Reporting and ICFR Transformation (controls), educating the treasury team on requirements and progress, and managing treasury’s input to the Polaris initiatives. Champion a culture of change management, ensuring alignment with organisational culture and values throughout the transformation journey. Develop and continuously evolve a comprehensive treasury transformation roadmap aligned with Project Polaris and the organisation's long-term strategic objectives, leveraging input and insights from the Group Treasurer, Deputy Group Treasurer, the Polaris team and the wider group treasury team. Drive transformation initiatives with the design, implementation and optimisation of Global treasury processes, systems and controls, streamlining manual processes, enhancing data analytics capabilities, and improving decision-making capabilities. Ensure Global Processes are designed to achieve a consistent approach across the whole of Flutter, with an underlying objective of achieving the maximum possible centralisation of treasury activity, assisting with organisation design and optimal location strategy to support Global Processes. Ensure the development of a strong SOX compliant control environment for treasury, aligned to the wider Polaris ICFR transformation. Lead M&A integration from a Treasury perspective to ensure compliance with Flutter processes and policies. Define clear goals, milestones and performance metrics to track progress and measure the success of treasury related transformation initiatives. Identify emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in treasury management to help drive continuous improvement and innovation across the treasury function. Transformation - Financial Risk Management Assist the Group Treasurer and Deputy Group Treasurer in project managing the development and implementation of efficient risk management frameworks to identify, assess and mitigate financial risks across the group. Transformation - Liquidity and Cash Management Working with the Treasury Controllership pillar, ensure the optimisation and strategic alignment of cash forecasting processes and liquidity management strategies to ensure sufficient working capital for operational needs and strategic investments. Collaborate with the wider treasury team and financial institutions to explore innovative cash management solutions as appropriate. Transformation - Treasury Operations In collaboration with the Group Treasury Operations & Systems teams, help drive the development and implementation of innovative approaches to optimise treasury operations, focusing on enhancing efficiency, effectiveness & operational resilience in cash management, liquidity planning and risk mitigation, ensuring seamless execution of day-to-day operations. Transformation – Systems, UAT In collaboration with the Group Treasury Systems team, ensure that Treasury Systems team are aligned with the Polaris Financial Information Model design for treasury systems & interfaces, ensuring alignment in key areas e.g. bank reconciliations, intercompany accounting. Ensure that the Group Treasury Systems team coordinate testing, UAT and Go-Live throughout the various deployments of Oracle Cloud, in full alignment with Project Polaris requirements. Transformation - Centralisation and Cross-Functional Collaboration Act as a key liaison between the treasury function, business units and the Polaris team, facilitating collaboration and alignment on integration and centralisation, strategic initiatives and business priorities. Project manage & drive treasury transformation in respect of the group’s ambitions to create a centralised treasury organisation, ensuring that appropriate treasury personnel are in place in relevant locations. Partner with finance, accounting, risk management and corporate development teams to integrate treasury considerations into overall business planning, budgeting and decision-making processes, ensuring alignment with Project Polaris. Partner with the Group Treasurer to foster a culture of collaboration, transparency and shared accountability across the organisation, driving collective ownership of treasury-related goals and outcomes. Stakeholder Engagement and Relationship Management: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including business divisions, finance, accounting, tax, legal, and business units to align treasury strategies with Project Polaris & broader organisational objectives. Act as a trusted advisor to the Group Treasurer and senior management, offering proactive assistance and strategic recommendations. Build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders as appropriate. Transformation - Talent Development Assist in the recruitment, development and retention of talent, ensuring that the treasury function has the necessary skills and capabilities.
