Join Close Brothers Central Credit Risk Team where you will help oversee the group's credit risk reporting across the various banking businesses.
Embedded in the heart of the Risk function, this position plays a pivotal role in supporting key decision-makers across the Credit Leadership Team and offers the opportunity to work hands-on with a wide range of stakeholders across the bank's varied businesses and functions.
This dynamic role provides the opportunity to develop and hone a rounded understanding of credit risk within a collaborative analytical environment where contributions will have a real impact.
Working with the Credit Risk Manager, this position plays an important role in coordinating reporting on Close Brothers' overall credit performance and monitoring the adequacy of provisions across the group's diverse portfolios. Specifically, the role facilitates regular impairment reporting under IFRS 9 and assists the drafting of external market disclosures related to credit risk, ICAAP delivery, and key bank-wide risk reporting in collaboration with the wider Central Credit Risk team.
RESPONSIBILITIES
IFRS 9 & Credit Risk Reporting
1. Maintain group-wide IFRS 9 reporting framework, including registers of Post-Model Adjustments (PMAs) and individually assessed exposures, working closely with colleagues in Finance and Modelling.
Risk Committees and Governance
1. Provide support for various risk committees, including preparation of minutes, elaboration and review of packs, and coordination of logistics for meetings.
Credit Risk Disclosures
1. Support preparation of quantitative consolidated credit disclosures relating to credit quality and macroeconomic outlook, including associated governance processes.
2. Engage with external audit teams to facilitate efficient and effective completion of regular audit processes.
Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP)
1. Support preparation of credit risk updates including Pillar 2a capital commentary and calculation of concentration risk charges for the annual ICAAP process.
Risk & Compliance
Ensure that all Governance and Compliance requirements are adhered to and all reporting and reviewing activities required by the Regulatory Bodies are carried out to the standards required.

1. Strong Reporting and Analytical Skills: Ability to analyse data, produce clear reports, and convey complex information to stakeholders effectively.
2. Effective Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to engage with senior management and cross-functional teams.
3. Attention to Detail: Meticulous in reviewing data and reports to ensure accuracy and compliance.
IT IS NOT ESSENTIAL BUT IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HAVE:
1. Basic Knowledge of Credit Risk: Familiarity with core credit risk principles, regulatory frameworks (e.g., IFRS 9), and market practices.
2. Technical (Software) Proficiency: Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, Alteryx, Tableau) and familiarity with credit risk modelling.
3. Project Management Abilities: Ability to support project rollout, coordinate cross-team efforts, and meet tight deadlines.
4. Knowledge of Financial Services: Understanding of broader financial services operations and their impact on credit risk management.
5. Relationship Management Skills: Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including auditors.
6. Educated to degree-level or with equivalent work experience.
