Production Planning Engineer
Salary: £33,000 – £36,000 per annum dependent on experience (36 hrs per week Mon-Fri)

Based in Manchester, we are currently recruiting for a Planning Engineer on a permanent basis to join our expanding Planning Department. We have a wide variety of prestigious clients on some of the most exciting Military and Civil aviation training engineering projects around the world, and this role will be instrumental in developing this area of our business.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Check and review engineering and planning data and comment as appropriate.
2. Attend and contribute to production & planning reviews both internally & externally.
3. Attend project and progress reviews to monitor progress & identify pertinent issues and actions.
4. Identify engineering changes or modified requirements within the manufacturing system and record appropriate changes.
5. Process & maintain data within the company's manufacturing including transferring of data in and out of the system.
6. Maintain & create parts, part numbers, descriptions and inventory details for both Stock & Control Materials and Parts.
7. Maintain & create bill of materials based upon the engineering data produced from the Project & Design departments.
8. Prepare the project budgets to enable the contract to be raised on the manufacturing system.
9. Produce estimates & assign working times from Project budget allocations and monitor the booked times.
10. Plan manufacturing activities and production routes for parts, sub-assemblies and assemblies.
11. Operate resource/capacity planning activities to manage the manufacturing environment for best efficiency.
12. Liaise with clients and suppliers where required.
Key Requirements
1. Proven efficient Planning Experience within a manufacturing environment.
2. Effective management, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
3. You thrive in deadline-driven environments.
4. Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills.
5. Competent user of Microsoft Packages e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook.
6. Experienced in MRP/ERP systems with the ability to learn and use EDM’s Manufacturing system, Syspro.
7. Effective communication with all internal stakeholders and external customers and suppliers.
8. The ability to self-manage and work under pressure to deliver and thrive in an ever-changing and dynamic environment.
9. Commercially and financially astute with experience of working to budgets and financial targets.
10. Ability to achieve UK security clearance essential.
