Brief Description
As a Sentinel Specialist, you will play a key role in improving the safety and efficiency of the rail industry through the effective use of the Sentinel system. Your expertise will help drive improvements across its use, ensuring full compliance with Rail Assurance Scheme Rules. You will be responsible for continuous improvements, managing database upgrades, and leading initiatives that enhance the safety and performance of contractors.
Main Responsibilities
1. Identify change initiatives for the Sentinel scheme and project manage the development of solutions and the delivery of business change across the rail industry.
2. Provide assurance and governance for the Sentinel scheme by conducting training investigations and validating data integrity across the rail industry.
3. Evaluate and analyse Sentinel performance against supplier contracts, highlighting risks, making recommendations and tracking corrective actions.
4. Evaluate and analyse monthly Sentinel performance figures, identifying risks and developing mitigating actions to improve safety assurance and performance.
5. Identify and deliver new business processes that support the Sentinel system such as the integration of new competences.
6. Provide subject matter expertise for Sentinel related queries, particularly for non-maintenance staff.
7. Co-ordinate and chair meetings between senior stakeholders, suppliers, and NR departments.
8. Provide effective communications to the Sentinel community working with internal and external customers.
Essential Requirements
1. Knowledge of new Sentinel rules.
2. Knowledge of rail industry training and evaluation systems.
3. Experience in delivering business change across the rail industry.
4. Knowledge and understanding of NR competence structures and management systems.
5. Experience of managing and evaluating contracts and presenting performance data.
6. Excellent planning, monitoring and communication skills.
7. Stakeholder management experience, both internal and external.
Desirable Requirements
1. Understanding of MSP / MSP4NR.
2. Understanding of rail safety systems.
