Quantity Surveyor (Social Housing) | Permanent | Watford, Hertfordshire
Salary: £55,000 - £60,000 + car allowance / package

I have a great opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established main contractor on a permanent basis, working on residential / social housing projects, based out of their offices near Watford, Herts.
The company is a family-run business that has been around for approximately 35 years. They have a wide and varied client base which includes Local Authorities, Housing Associations, and Private Sector Clients.
The business has a young, dynamic, and energetic management team with a strong business plan in place; they are further developing their client base, and this is a great opportunity to join a growing business.
They are looking for a Quantity Surveyor with a strong track record working on Social Housing projects, with experience of decent homes, kitchens and bathrooms, external works, roof renewals, voids, disrepairs, and full refurbishments.
Duties include:
1. Prepare a list of enquiries at procurement stage and collate tender information which will be sent out to the supply chain for pricing.
2. Analyse tender returns and collate information for discussion with the team.
3. Support the team to increase and improve upon existing supply chain.
4. Compile and issue sub contract orders and ensure these are signed and returned along with any supporting documentation.
5. Review and sign off on any sub contract applications and prepare and send out payment notices.
6. Undertake detailed internal and external cashflow forecasts.
7. Produce monthly AFA’s for clients.
8. Produce monthly valuations and agree with clients.
9. Agree Final Accounts with supply chain and clients in a timely manner.
10. Work closely with the site team to ensure that all costs are recorded, providing support if needed.
11. Issue variation orders if required, ensuring relevant documentation is available to substantiate.
12. Attend site visits to provide assistance and support to both the commercial and operational side of the business.
13. Compile, complete and issue detailed and accurate CVR’s to directors.
Ideal Candidate:
1. Self-motivated with experience working in the Social Housing sector.
2. Able to work autonomously.
3. Ability to work as part of a team.
4. Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
5. Proficiency using office IT applications such as Microsoft Excel and Word or equivalent software.
6. Be punctual and have good timekeeping.
7. Can take instruction from more senior managers and effectively carry out tasks.
8. Full UK Drivers Licence.
