Main duties of the job
We are seeking a highly motivated and proactive candidate to fulfil the role of Admin Team Leader within the TRC which is part of the Respiratory department. The successful candidates will have a minimum of 1-2 years' experience working within a supervisory or management post either within the NHS or have relevant experience outside the Trust with Transferrable skills. You will be able to demonstrate strong leadership and mentoring skills necessary to develop and nurture fellow team members. The successful candidates will be organised and flexible in their approach to the role. This is a fixed term or seconded post.

Job responsibilities
To provide day to day management of a Speciality Administration Team. Be responsible for the preparation of duty rosters ensuring appropriate cross-cover arrangements are in place where necessary to maintain a comprehensive and responsive administration service. Ensure workload is allocated fairly across all teams and staffs work flexibly to accommodate the needs of the patient and the clinical team they are supporting. Manage the recruitment process for appointment of new Patient Administration Team members. Utilise ESR self-service to monitor annual leave, sickness absence and any changes in employment contracts for the team. Monitor the performance of the team in relation to achieving national waiting list targets and high quality, patient focussed services. Be involved with employee relations issues relating to your particular team disciplinary, grievance procedures and performance management issues. Authorise staff timesheets and claim forms in accordance with Trust.
Person Specification
Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience
Essential
1. NVQ Level 4 or equivalent experience good knowledge across a range of administrative work procedures including non-routine elements
2. Educated to GCSE (or equivalent) standard, with a pass in English and Maths
3. Experience of administration in a customer- focused environment
4. Experience of dealing with non-routine and complex problems, progress chasing, resource and staff allocation
5. Ability to compose correspondence from fragmented instructions
6. Experience in delivering training sessions
Desirable
7. Previous experience of working in an acute hospital setting
8. Competent in the use of ESR and Healthroster
9. Supervisory or office management experience
