What You’ll Do
1. Lead and manage bids and tender submissions for the Transport business, reporting to the Business Development Director.
2. Manage a Bid Team based in Warwick and London, planning resources to pursue opportunities effectively.
3. Ensure optimal utilization of resources across the business to maximize opportunities.
4. Oversee the end-to-end management and production of high-quality, successful bids following Telent’s bid procedures.
5. Improve bid quality through best practice approaches.
6. Monitor bid costs and seek continual improvement in return on bid investment.
7. Develop relationships with customers through meetings and presentations.
8. Manage Bid team performance, KPIs, and SLAs.
9. Lead bid strategy development, bid material production, and post-bid support.
10. Plan workload, forecast bids, and track costs and success rates.
11. Conduct bid reviews and maintain the Bid library.
Who You Are
Key Requirements:
* Extensive experience managing and leading a bid team, with a focus on efficiency and success rate improvement.
* Proven success in leading and winning bids in the Public Sector, including Traffic, Rail, and Emergency Services markets.
* Strong project management, organizational, and financial skills.
* Broad understanding of relevant technologies and services.
* APMP or equivalent qualification with a record of bid wins.
* Excellent bid writing, financial, and presentation skills.
* Leadership ability to build and maintain a high-performing bid team.
* Experience in delivering high and medium-value bids.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Proactive, ownership-oriented attitude with high emotional intelligence.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team, maintaining strong relationships.
