Job Description:
At Leonardo, we have exciting opportunities from Senior to Team Lead level within our Software Quality Assurance Team in Edinburgh. This is a great opportunity to come join our team and to support the business on cutting edge defence and aerospace projects, during an exciting period of growth within Edinburgh.
These roles will be based across a range of Leonardo Business Products within our state of the art Edinburgh facility. You will be working directly with our engineering teams and with our internal project teams and customers.
The salary range for this role is £48,000 - £58,000 per year.
What you will do as a Software Quality Assurance professional:
1. Provide independent software assurance support to the development and release of software, verifying it is in accordance with the contracted and company standards.
2. Create and maintain software quality assurance plans in accordance with contractual conditions and company standards.
3. Estimate software quality assurance resources required to support projects.
4. Assess the ability of subcontracted companies to perform software development to required standards.
5. Assess projects for compliance with software development plans and processes.
6. Participate in software lifecycle reviews.
7. Perform software conformity reviews and physical/functional configuration audits.
8. Verify the release of deliverable software.
What we need from you:
What you really must have:
1. Knowledge and practical experience of software quality.
2. Further education and experience ideally in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing or experience in Defence Electronics or similarly 'complex' industry.
3. Be a logical thinker, capable of harvesting complex data into actions with practical solutions that supports business goals, in 'the language of the business'.
4. Have good interpersonal skills and a collaborative working style across all functions of the business.
It would be nice if you had:
1. Be able to demonstrate knowledge within the areas of AS9100 / ISO9001 and Continuous improvement.
2. Have demonstrated experience working in high precision manufacturing environment.
3. An Airborne software background, with good working knowledge of software standards RTCA/DO-178C, AS9115, and AQAP-2210.
