What you will do in your working day
* Checking the size of materials and preparing them to be joined
* Dismantling and cutting up metals
* Calibrate tools and operate welding equipment
* Follow engineering drawings and instructions
* Inspect and test joins using precision measuring instruments
The training you will be getting
* Level 2 Engineering Operative (Fab and Weld)
* Functional Skills in maths and English if required
* Development of knowledge, skills and behaviours required to complete the Engineering Operative (Fab and Weld)
All apprentices undertaking this apprenticeship must achieve - Mandatory qualifications:
Diploma in engineering operations (skills)
* Ofqual regulated
* Level of qualification: 2
Certificate or Diploma in engineering operations (knowledge)
* Ofqual regulated
* Level of qualification: 2
What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship
* To progress onto Level 3 or equivalent Welding course
* This will lead to becoming a fully Qualified Fabricator/Welder
