We are seeking a Volunteer and Community Engamement Assistant to support the Volunteer and Community Engagement Lead to deliver the volunteering and community engagement strategies, provide administrative assistance, support on a range of enquiries and activities and work collaboratively within the wider team and community to uphold the hospice’s values and ethos of Care, Compassion and Kindness. What you will do 1. Assist in the planning and delivery of volunteer recruitment and community engagement events and initiatives. 2. Provide administrative support to the Volunteer and Community Engagement Lead, including inputting data into volunteer records, supporting the induction and orientation period of new volunteers and maintaining up to date records. 3. Responsible for ensuring the timely collection of volunteer information and the processing of DBS and reference checks. 4. Handle enquiries and provide support in a professional and polite manner via telephone, email and face to face in relation to volunteer enquiries. 5. Support the Volunteer and Community Engagement Lead and provide content for regular communications to volunteers via email and newsletters. 6. Coordinate room bookings, administration and communicating information for volunteer interviews, induction sessions, training and events. 7. Collate information for case studies, feedback and insights for marketing and communication materials as required. 8. Produce the volunteer rota in a timely manner for distribution. 9. Work with the Volunteer and Community Engagement Lead to develop and support the Community Companion Service. 10. Organise social events and activities to ensure volunteers feel valued and appreciated within the hospice team. 11. When required, support the Volunteer and Community Engagement Lead at open days and community events, including awareness campaigns e.g. Dying Matters Week, Volunteers Week and Hospice Care Week. Please note - The nature of the job will require travel within Dudley and the Black Country and occasional evening/ weekend work as required.
