The school provides work for students who may be at risk of, or have been, permanently excluded from school. Their focus is on re-engagement and making their students are encouraged to focus on their learning and resilience skills. Their aim is to support students back to mainstream school so that they are equipped to explore a wide range of experiences, and a mainstream school placement provides.
This school caters to year 9 and year 10 from 8.30am to 4.30pm (30-minutes unpaid lunch break)
Role Overview
* Research and prepare learning materials
* Develop teaching techniques which cater to different students depending on their learning styles
* Oversee group and class work
* Prioritise children's physical, social and emotional welfare
* Ensure your students are provided with a safe environment to pursue their educational needs
* Make sure records are up to date
* You may be required to work closely with other professionals like speech and language therapists
Skills and knowledge
* Hold a minimum of 5 GCSE
* Able to understand and help students with various learning styles
* Enjoy working with students
* The ability to create the best conditions for learning or teaching new skills
* Flexible and open to adapting to each student’s needs
* Excellent verbal communication and listening skills
* Ability to remain calm and composed during stressful situations and ensuring students feel supported

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
