WGM have an opening for IT Security Analyst to help bolster the existing IT & Digital Services team, the role will be based in our Glasgow office on a full time permanent basis. The purpose of this role is to join a growing IT Team and take a lead with strengthening WGM's cyber security posture. We are looking for someone with a can-do approach, relevant technical experience, a deep understanding of the cyber security landscape and exemplary customer service skills. As WGM starts to embark on a number of change activities, the Security Analyst will not only be expected to identify improvement opportunities, but to pick up and deliver too. Previous exposure to implementing security policies and procedures is essential for the success of this role.
Main duties and responsibilities
1. Proactively monitoring network and system security.
2. Identifying vulnerabilities and security threats.
3. Responding to cyber incidents and play a key part in the evolution of the Cyber Incident Response Plan.
4. Analysing security breaches to identify the cause and incident responses and disaster recovery/cyber incident response plans.
5. Take a leading role in developing our Cyber Incident Response (Test / DR) playbook.
6. Helping to achieve Cyber Essentials Plus accreditation as well ensure this is maintained annually.
7. Ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.
8. Identifying, developing and embedding security policies and procedures.
9. Able to demonstrate a good understanding of common information security vulnerabilities, threats and controls.
10. Able to demonstrate an awareness of the relevant information security standards such as NIST and the CIS Top 20.
11. Conduct phishing scenarios & identify and deliver learning opportunities for staff.
12. Regularly updating the organization on security threats and best practices.
13. Implement both internal and external security audits.
To be considered for this position you will have at least 2-3 years previous experience within a similar IT security position, you will possess excellent communication skills and have the ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team. Previous experience of identifying and successfully resolving cyber security threats is essential for the role.
