Night HGV Technician needed
Location: Enfield
Our client, a prosperous Truck and Bus manufacturer and dealer, is seeking a Night HGV Technician to join their team.
The ideal candidate will have technical and practical competency in the repair and maintenance of HGVs. You must be able to effectively communicate at all levels, both written and verbally, and be flexible enough to adapt to new processes and develop new skills when required, as well as participate in training and development activities.

Night HGV Technician
Hours:
Monday to Friday; 10pm - 6am
Responsibilities:
1. Ensure repairs are carried out according to manufacturer's procedures, safely and responsibly.
2. Assist in the fault diagnosis process.
3. Comply with warranty procedures during repairs and warranty material on completion of each repair.
4. Work with the Parts Team to ensure the correct replacement parts are fitted.
5. Road test vehicles when required (if you hold an HGV licence).
6. Assist with roadside breakdowns.
7. Ensure company time recording procedures are complied with, and that job cards are completed accurately.
8. Ensure service sheets are completed as per Volvo instructions.
9. Ensure all vehicle defects are reported to workshop controllers.
10. Keep all workshop facilities, equipment, and tools clean, tidy, and well maintained.
11. Wear personal protective equipment when appropriate.
12. Support the development of young trainees and apprentices.
Requirements:
1. Hold a City and Guilds, NVQ3, or an equivalent qualification.
2. Completed an apprenticeship in the HGV industry.
3. Have equivalent experience.
4. Experience in the commercial vehicle industry.
5. Have a basic working knowledge of vehicle technology.
6. Knowledge of computer software packages including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
