The role
As a First Line Manager - Mechanical, you’ll manage and lead a team of skilled workers, specifically supervising a team of Mechanical Fitters. This role is full time, 35 hours per week and is based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard.
Responsibilities:
* Following and promoting control of work processes.
* Ensuring the workplace is safe and meets appropriate health, safety and environment standards.
* Managing the care and growth of a team with reference to time, performance, behaviours, and quality.
* Providing technical guidance in relation to your area of expertise.
* Taking ownership and delivering project objectives to schedule and quality in accordance with Company Processes and Procedures.
Essential experience of the First Line Manager - Mechanical:
* Good understanding of Health and Safety processes associated with production activities.
* Experience in supervising a team or willingness to learn.
* Experience of repair/replace/overhaul/maintenance processes.
* Good leadership qualities and interpersonal skills to lead and motivate a team.
* Good understanding of all mechanical processes.
Qualifications for the First Line Manager - Mechanical:
* IOSH.
Security Clearance:
The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
