This role presents an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to join a newly established Customs and Freight Forwarding Department. The role comes with responsibility for the timely completion of all customs procedures for both Import and Export shipments. To liaise with clients and European partners to ensure the timely turnaround of customs documentation in line with HMRC & Border Force procedures. Working in collaboration with our key clients and the internal operations team to ensure a smooth delivery process. In essence, the Freight Forwarding and Customs Manager is required to ensure all documentation and clearance procedures are completed in a timely and orderly manner to facilitate the efficiency of our clients supply chain. Primary Purpose of the role: Act as the central point of contact for the site in relation to all Customs Import & Export matters. Ensure correct documentation is received from customers, European partners and external customs brokers. Facilitating smooth transactions and fulfilling all requirements to support our European agents and appointed brokers are processed in a timely and efficient manner. To work closely with the Operations and Warehouse team to ensure timely movement of goods inbound and outbound. You will be responsible for the correct and organised process utilised with respect to our ETSF, ensuring goods are cleared correctly an in line with HMRC & Border Force regulations. You will be responsible for all processes and procedures relating to all Import and Export shipments utilising our nominated required software and IT systems including Destin8. 1) To oversee the companies Import and Export process's with specific attention to Customs regulations and requirements. Working alongside business partners both internationally and domestically 2)Complete and submit accurate customs declarations to ensure compliance with international and UK trade regulations 3)Ensure all relevant and legal documentation is in place for Customs Clearance & is received by Customs Broker in full as soon as possible upon dispatch of goods from the customer and that appropriate clearance instructions are provided 4)Prepare and review documentation required for Multimodal Import & Export processes, including invoices, packing lists and other documentation in line with Customs and Agents requirements 5)Efficiently resolve any issues that occur relating to disputes, inspections or customs delays and communicate to relevant parties involved 6)Monitor pre-alerts from foreign agents and raise import files. 7)Responsibility for closing T1's and lodging movements and clearances against the correct software systems.
