GSL Education are looking for a committed and caring SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join a welcoming and inclusive school in Basingstoke. This role is ideal for individuals who are patient, empathetic, and eager to support students in their learning and development. Role Overview: As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in helping students with additional needs to engage in learning. You will work closely with teachers, providing one-on-one and small group support, ensuring that every child receives the individual attention they require to succeed. Responsibilities of the SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA): Support students with SEN, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, and Speech and Language difficulties. Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) to support student progress. Provide classroom support to ensure an inclusive and positive learning environment. Encourage student independence and confidence in their learning journey. Implement behaviour management strategies to promote a safe and supportive atmosphere. Monitor and document student progress, communicating updates to teachers and parents. Requirements of the SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA): Previous experience working with SEN students or relevant training is desirable. A genuine passion for working with children with additional needs. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with students. A current CV covering the last ten years (with any gaps explained) and an enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
