We are looking to recruit a clinician who is keen to learn more about DBT interventions and has relevant clinical experience. The ideal candidate should be interested and passionate about working with people who have severe and enduring mental health problems.
This post provides an exciting opportunity to make a significant contribution to the delivery of specialist psychological therapies, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), to support the ICCR within Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health Foundation Trust. The successful post holder will be working in the CASCADE service, a highly specialist psychology-led service, within the Trust's wider Complex Emotion & Trauma pathway.
CASCADE is an ALL AGES specialist psychotherapy service for service users presenting with high-risk suicidal behaviours and self-harm, within the context of severe emotional dysregulation and other co-occurring mental health needs. We work with ages 14+, as well as providing a valuable service to the families and carers of our service users.
We offer good opportunities for 1:1 client work, group work, working with the Multidisciplinary Teams, and research and audit. You will be part of a well-established, supportive, and friendly team. The post holder will also have the opportunity to receive 1:1 clinical supervision from a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist. This post may involve some remote working from home and will also involve travel to other Trust bases.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for an enthusiastic, robust, and adaptable individual, with a strong interest in working with people who present with a range of complexities, including risk, personality difficulties, complex emotions, trauma, and social inequalities.
Under supervision, the post includes individual and group work, with the post holder having a significant role in the co-facilitation of our DBT skills groups and family & carers group. Experience of DBT or CBT is desirable. Appropriate training will be provided as required.
The post holder will also support the assessment process, including administration, scoring, and interpretation of psychometric tests and writing reports.
