We operate a 4 on 4 off shift pattern - 4 days, 4 off, 4 nights, 4 off (8am - 8pm / 8pm - 8am).
Salary for this position is £37,259 + 5% shift allowance.
A quick look at the role.
The Shift Production Manager will have full responsibility for all aspects of the process whilst on shift. The Shift Production Manager leads the team in achieving excellence in health and safety, product quality, asset performance and utilisation, and communicates any problems or obstacles to senior management.
Your core responsibilities.
* Responsible for the Health & Safety of all employees working on your shift and ensure housekeeping and general cleanliness of the plant and equipment is maintained to a high standard.
* Ensure the workforce understands and is compliant with company safety policies and procedures. Provide a safe working environment by conducting risk assessments, manual handling assessments, and COSHH evaluations.
* Encourage and participate in near miss and hazard reporting, and deliver Tool Box Talks and other required health and safety training to assist Biffa Polymers in achieving excellence in health and safety as well as meeting business KPI’s.
* Manage the processing activities in the plant, ensuring optimum performance of all available resources including people and machinery.
* Establish operational KPI’s for your team and ensure that these are delivered through performance management and employee development, together with improvements to plant, processes, and efficiencies to deliver product of the right quality.
* In conjunction with fellow Production Managers, design and implement Standard Operating Procedures to ensure all processes achieve uniform optimum performance measures including Overall Equipment Efficiency and availability to meet business KPI’s and customer requirements.

* Proven track record of working to clearly defined KPI’s.
* Good man management skills and ability to stay focused in a tough and demanding environment.
* Knowledge and understanding of the requirements of working within a time-critical process environment.
* Experience of people and health and safety management within a multi-shift and industrial/processing environment.
